I've had such a wonderful summer so far and I apologise for taking such a long holiday away from my blog. The rain started to beat down hard from about two weeks back and the beach days are dwindling so its about time I started to wrap up my time off and get back into it again. I just wanted to share some photos of the beautiful time I've had over the last two months. As I'm very slowly becoming a real adult, I've begun to see things in a much clearer perspective. Slowly I'm shedding away the unnecessary frustrations and self induced unhappiness and I'm starting to enjoy all the simple precious moments. I think it's been a long time coming, but I'm in a much more comfortable place now. From all the petty emotions day to day life can bring, to be able to say that, I think it's a real milestone for me.
This year I haven't set myself any 'resolutions' as I find they're always hard to keep and even more disappointing when you don't do that excercise for 1 hour a day, 7 days a week. Instead I've taken a slightly different approach. I know what my goals are and as I go about my daily life I make concious decisions to achieve them. As the year goes on, I'll continue to re-evaluate my wants and needs and make changes accordingly. It's a much more realistic way to get what you want and be happy as you do it. Here are some actions I've taken lately to lead myself into a more fulfilling lifestyle...
... I've started to socialise more and not only have said yes to doing things, but have actually shown up to them as well (haha). It beats sitting around on the couch stewing on how exhausted a day of work makes me. ... I'm back into cooking again and trying out new recipes. Not only does this mean I know what I'm putting in my body aaand I have new blogging material, I'm also saving a lot of moolah for that extended holiday I'm dreaming of taking. ... Yoga. It has been the best decision I've made this year so far. Being leaner, more flexible and stronger has always been a goal for me, why haven't I started doing this sooner? It's also great for all the tension, aches and pain I get from my occupation, my Physio is so proud of me!
... And of course, turning off the TV and logging onto Blogger to work on this little baby.
Thank you guys so much for following, reading and commenting in 2011 and I hope you guys will continue to follow my creative journey through 2012 :)
P.S. I have to give credit for that scrumptious Thai feast we devoured to my beautiful Anna. She worked away all day to create that beautiful dinner for Joel, Dan and I to enjoy. Don't worry, I'm already begging her for the recipes ;)
